There are many certified organic hand sanitizers available in the marketplace for people who want to keep their hands germ-free without the use of harsh chemicals. One of the benefits of looking for organic sanitizers is that it can do double-duty. When you can't rinse a piece of fruit, a certified organic sanitizer can be applied directly to the fruit, since organic means food-grade. Just spray, wipe away and enjoy your bacteria- and germ-free piece of deliciousness.

If you ever find yourself stopping at a convenience store to pick up some milk or a cup of coffee and notice your gas tank is half full, consider filling up. When your gas tank is completely empty, there's extra air inside. Gasoline evaporates quickly -- and even more so in the warmer spring and summer months. When there is more gas in the tank than air, there's less evaporation, and you get more gas for your money. But a tip: Don't make trips just to fill up when it's half full. The added time to drive and fill negates the savings.

If you want to avoid hanging mesh fencing to keep deer out of your garden, try this instead: Choose bitter and strongly scented herbs and flowers for your garden. Deer use their strong sense of smell to find food, so when you plant things they hate (like garlic, chives and lavender), it can act as a deterrent. The strong scent of unwanted plants acts like a fence to keep deer away from flowers, vegetables and fruit they find appetizing. It isn't foolproof, but it's a strategy that can minimize damage.
