Submission Guidelines for UExpress

Andrews McMeel Syndication is always looking for great new columnists for UExpress. Read through these guidelines before you submit your material for our consideration. Once you understand all the guidelines, use the form below to begin the submission process.

What type of columns should I submit?

We’re looking for creative, interesting, diverse, and trusted points of view in advice, food, inspiration, self-care, finance, personality, and more. Maybe you have a column idea in an area we haven’t thought of yet. We’d like to hear about that, too.

How long should my column be?

We generally look for text features that are between 500 and 600 words.

What compensation is paid for syndicated text features?

It is impossible to quote a specific rate paid for any feature. Rates depend on the popularity of the feature, whether it is syndicated, and the number, and circulation, of newspapers that carry that particular feature. Generally, our contracts provide for an equal division of revenue with the creator, after deduction of production costs.
