We love our dogs, and during the summer months we need to protect their sensitive paws, noses and ears from sun damage and bug bites. While applying sunblock or insect repellent to our pooches may seem like a gesture of love, it can cause more harm than good. Since dogs have a tendency to lick foreign substances off their skin, the ingestion of sunscreen or repellant can cause serious illness. Unless the product is specifically designed for use on pets, do not use it.
