The best place to pick up a gallon of milk or a carton of eggs is from the back of the fridge. When shopping for perishable groceries at the supermarket, choose your eggs and milk from where they've been stored at the coldest temperatures. Since refrigerator doors are being constantly opened and closed, items up front have a greater chance to expire more quickly. Choosing items from the back gives you a longer shelf life when you get your groceries home.
