A simple way to save money on organics is to look for them at warehouse clubs. Stores like Costco and Sam's Club are stocking more organic coffee, tea, olive oil, salad dressing and produce at bulk prices. Just be sure to buy only items you definitely will use; spoiled food -- even in bulk sizes -- just means money down the drain.

Most fragrances contain a chemical called phthalate, which helps fragrances last longer. However, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, "several studies have shown associations between phthalate exposures and human health, although no causal link has been established." So if you absolutely love your perfume and can't live without, try wearing a solid version instead. With solids, you apply the fragrance directly to where you want the scent, lessening the possible risk that spray perfumes may have.

Buying in bulk can be a simple way to save money on organics. Many deals can be found in the bulk bin area -- nuts, grains, dried fruits and beans can be gold mines. Not only can you control the amount that you buy (if you just want one cup of dried rice, you can get that), but you can also save some serious cash. Nuts are a huge saver -- a recent trip to the supermarket found a pound of organic whole cashews for around $7 in the bulk section, compared to a 16-ounce package for $11.
