Toilet paper made from recycled paper is no longer that rough, scratchy brown paper of the past. Today, many companies are making white, soft tissue all from old paper, instead of trees. According to the Natural Resources Defense Council, "if every household in the United States replaced just one roll of virgin fiber toilet paper (500 sheets) with 100 percent recycled ones, we could save 423,900 trees."

If you are concerned about the chemicals used in many antibacterial gels and hand soaps, but still want your hands to be germ-free, then look no further than the essential oils section of your natural foods store. Oils like tea tree, peppermint and rosemary have natural antimicrobial properties and can be simply added to the palms of your hands with liquid soap to cleanse, refresh and sanitize your hands.

It's easy to be convinced to buy a product from one of those late-night infomercials on television. If you buy something, make sure what you're ordering isn't put on automatic delivery to your home. Many people unknowingly buy products with their credit cards, and the items automatically come on a regular basis (charging your card each time). Canceling can be a hassle, so many people choose to keep receiving the items and stockpile them. Instead, make sure it comes only once. If you truly love it, re-order one at a time.
