Many of us have broken the bottled water habit in favor of tap water. If you live in an older home, be sure to only drink the coldest water possible from the tap. Drinking any hot tap water could actually leach lead and other toxic metals out of older pipes into your water. If you need hot water, boil it first to be absolutely sure it's safe to drink.

Silly Putty was a fun item to play with as a child because it could be stretched, pulled and molded into almost any shape and still retain its elasticity. Another practical way to use Silly Putty is to clean in between the keys of your computer's keyboard. Just press it on top of the keyboard and let it grip onto the dust, dirt and debris inside and lift back up.

If you rinse out a plastic Ziploc bag and dry it clean, one way to reuse it is to simply place your remote control inside the bag. This will help keep it germ-free and allow multiple people to use it without getting illness-causing germs all over it.
