When you withdraw cash from an ATM, opt to see your balance on the screen instead of printing out a receipt. It's one small change you can do that will have a good impact. Imagine if everyone did this: You wouldn't see that pile of ATM slips strewn all over the ground.

Rummage through your pantry this morning and sort out expired and unwanted food. Rinse out the expired food and recycle the cans and bottles. Donate the unwanted food -- free of dents and still at least six months away from expiration -- to a local food bank or food drive. Many supermarkets have collection bins set up during the holiday season, so you can just drop off your donation. Also, be considerate: If you don't want the pickled pearl onions, there's a good chance that no one else does either.

Isn't it frustrating when a ballpoint pen doesn't write anymore, even when there seems to be a ton of ink still in it? You can loosen a stuck ballpoint pen by running it under hot water in the sink. The hot water will soften any dried up or stuck ink and wash away any debris on the tip of the pen. Run the pen for about 10 seconds under the hottest setting possible.
