Rummage through your pantry this morning and sort out expired and unwanted food. Rinse out the expired food and recycle the cans and bottles. Donate the unwanted food -- free of dents and still at least six months away from expiration -- to a local food bank or food drive. Many supermarkets have collection bins set up during the holiday season, so you can just drop off your donation. Also, be considerate: If you don't want the pickled pearl onions, there's a good chance that no one else does either.

Isn't it frustrating when a ballpoint pen doesn't write anymore, even when there seems to be a ton of ink still in it? You can loosen a stuck ballpoint pen by running it under hot water in the sink. The hot water will soften any dried up or stuck ink and wash away any debris on the tip of the pen. Run the pen for about 10 seconds under the hottest setting possible.

Invite your friends over and ask them to bring 10 items of clothes or accessories that they no longer want but are wearable and still in style. Crack open a bottle of organic wine and exchange clothes. Turn it into a game or just swap clothes. Everyone picks something from the pile and everyone ends up with something new, while recycling old clothes into something new for someone else.
