Grilling corn on the cob but don't have holders to keep fingers protected? Look to the backyard: Clip fresh twigs and sharpen them in a pencil sharpener. Insert the twigs into the ends of the corn and you've got instant holders. When you're finished, just toss the sticks back into the yard.

Here's a tasty alternative to plastic straws. Instead of using non-biodegradable disposable straws, use Twizzlers instead! Just snip the ends of each Twizzler and insert into the beverage. There's a hole running down the middle of the candy that let's you sip away. When the drink's gone, the fun isn't; you can eat the candy. Isn't this a great idea for a kid's party?

Having a dinner party tonight? Here's a quick and easy way to turn old things into useful place-markers: Raid the junk drawer and grab a handful of wine corks and paint chips. Slice the cork halfway down with a sharp knife, insert the swatch and write the guest's name on it. Then place it at the table. It's that simple!
