Lots of shirts come with a small packet of spare buttons just in case one comes loose. The problem? Many of us toss the buttons into the junk drawer and never end up using them. So grab all those buttons, some strong adhesive glue (like Krazy Glue) and a bunch of thumbtacks. Glue a button to a thumbtack and let it dry. Stick them on a cork message board to decoratively keep memos, invitations and other important papers nice and neat.

If you wear baseball caps (or know someone who does), they can become smelly and dirty rather quickly, especially if you make a habit of working out while wearing one. Washing a baseball cap is obviously greener than buying a new one, but how do you do it without ruining its shape? Your dishwasher, of course. Just place it inside your dishwasher sans detergent and run it on a regular cycle. After washing, stuff the inside with newspaper and let it air-dry. Good as new!

When stocking up on snacks at the grocery store, think organic. There is a wide variety of yummy chips, crackers and cookies made with certified organic ingredients. While these salty and sweet snacks may not be as healthy (or dietetic) as fruits and veggies, at least they're made using ingredients grown without chemical pesticides and fertilizers. And that'll help you feel a tiny bit better when you snack away.
