When you park your car, look for a shady spot. Heat from the sun makes gas fumes vent into the air, even if you're not driving. Parking in the shade lowers the temperature in your tank by as much as 7 degrees, saving you gas and money!

If you have pets or wear your shoes in the house, you may need to deodorize your carpets. Sprinkle baking soda on the carpet and leave it overnight. The baking soda will absorb odors as you slumber away. The next day, plug in the vacuum and suck it all up. How easy was that?

If you're heading out for a cool, summertime ice cream treat tonight, buy a cone, not a dish. An ice cream cone is a greener, tastier alternative to a plastic dish and spoon because you can consume the whole treat with very little waste. So eat some carbs to save the planet. Yum!
