We waste around 10 percent of toothpaste because we can't squeeze it out of the tube. But instead of reaching for a new tube of paste, use a handy device to squeeze out every last minty drop. Toothpaste squeezers attach to the end of the tube and force out the remaining 10 percent with a simple fold and twist. The small investment in a squeezer will more than pay for itself in the toothpaste you'll recover over time.

Green decorating idea: Instead of buying pricey drapery hardware, look to Mother Nature. Hang drapery panels from a real branch that's right from your backyard. Choose a fresh, sturdy branch and look for one with an interesting outside finish, like the white bark from a birch tree. Not only is using a branch free, but I think it's more attractive, too.
