Green decorating idea: Instead of buying pricey drapery hardware, look to Mother Nature. Hang drapery panels from a real branch that's right from your backyard. Choose a fresh, sturdy branch and look for one with an interesting outside finish, like the white bark from a birch tree. Not only is using a branch free, but I think it's more attractive, too.

Reuse those dryer sheets to clean up around the house. The intricate webbing of dryer sheets does a great job of clinging and holding onto debris when dusting your furniture and electronics. So after the clothes are washed and dried, grab that sheet and get started.

If microscopic dust mites and other allergens have you saying "achoo," try using your freezer instead of a dust rag. Bed pillows, throw pillows and even your kid's plush toys can be detoxed in just 24 hours by placing them in the freezer. The cold air will freeze the nasty dust mites to death, and you'll have an instantly healthier and cleaner pillow to rest your head at night.
