Is there some residual yogurt inside that plastic container? Don't rinse it out; use it to create a highly effective face mask. Turns out yogurt made from dairy milk has an active ingredient called lactic acid, which can help improve your skin's clarity. Just spoon out the leftover yogurt and smear it on your face, throat and chest for about 15 minutes (a great thing to use before you shower). Then rinse it off. It's gentle enough to use daily, and you'll see results after just a few applications of this one-ingredient mask.

If the chemicals and preservatives in conventional perfume aren't enough to turn you off, maybe this fact will: Perfume is aging your skin. According to a story by Harper's Bazaar, the chemical composition of fragrances is so aggressive that "it undermines skin's ability to protect itself against UV damage." So when you spritz, your neck and chest area can rapidly age, with hyper pigmentation and sagging skin. The solution? Skip perfume altogether and protect yourself from the sun.

It's a fact that using an automatic dishwasher can save you energy and water over time. But there's one habit you should break when loading a dishwasher: pre-rinsing dishes in the sink. Over the lifespan of your dishwasher, pre-rinsing wastes thousands of gallons of water. Instead, scrape leftovers into the trash (or compost bin, if it's compostable) and put the grimy dishes right into the dishwasher. And since modern detergent tablets need grease and grime to activate, having dirty dishes actually helps your dishwasher work better, too.
