When it comes to choosing gas at the pump, you may be tempted to upgrade your fuel for your car. But the reality is, if your car is less than 10 years old, there is no need to choose premium over regular fuel. In fact, going for the upgrade is likely a waste of money. Modern cars are designed to work with the lowest grade of gasoline available. Just double-check your car’s manual to see what grade of gas it calls for. In the long run, you’ll save money.

For home cooks, onions are a staple in the kitchen. To keep onions fresh, grab some pantyhose that have a run in them, and upcycle them into a hanging onion storage net. Simply drop a whole onion into one leg of the pantyhose and tie a knot; keep repeating until each leg is full. Hang the stockings in a dark, cool place where you store pantry staples. Onions prefer this kind of environment to stay fresh, and mice and other rodents do not like the smell of onions, so storing food near your netted onions will deter them.

Using tape to seal packages or wrap gifts usually means using an adhesive made with plastic. But with more companies innovating and working to make their products greener, you can now find tape that’s more sustainable. When shopping for tape, look for eco-friendly versions that use plant-based resins instead of plastic. This type of tape works just like regular tape, but it’s made with biodegradable materials. And don’t forget to recycle the plastic casing when you’re done.
