A farmers market is a great way to connect with the growers who sell their fruits, veggies and other fresh food direct to you, the consumer. But there's no guarantee that what they sell is organically grown. When shopping at a farmers market, look for food marked with the USDA-certified organic mark or signs that indicate the produce is organic. If it's not, ask: Often produce is not certified organic, but it's still grown using organic methods. If that's all that's important to you, it should be fine to buy those items.
