Baked-on messes inside the oven can be nearly impossible to scrub away. But it doesn't make sense to reach for chemical oven cleaners, since you use your oven to bake, roast and broil dinner. Try this highly useful and nontoxic alternative instead: Make a thick paste out of dish soap, baking soda and kosher salt. Apply the paste all over the inside of the oven, and let it sit overnight. The next morning, use a wet sponge to wipe away the grimy mess naturally.

Buying vintage and lightly used clothes is a simple (and economical) way to green your fashion routine. But sometimes the clothes have a musty smell that laundering can't get out. Instead of using toxic and pricey dry cleaning, take a visit to the pet store. Pick up activated charcoal in the fish supply section, and dump a small container into a trash bag. Then put the clothes in the bag and seal it. Leave your clothes in there for a week, and the natural odor-absorbing powers of the charcoal will get the clothes smelling fresh.
