If you're interested in helping big cats like lions and leopards, one way you can help is to fund the building of "bomas" in African villages. A boma is a fenced-in area that protects and maintains livestock. It's a barrier between the big cats and cattle, and it discourages locals from retaliating against lions who kill cattle. For $500 -- and $25 a year to maintain -- you can increase the safety of big cats. Learn more at buildaboma.org.

When looking at cleaning supplies and insecticides, there are three key words that can help you determine exactly how toxic the product is: "caution," "warning" and "danger." If you see "caution," it means the overall product ingredients are low in toxicity. "Warning" is a step up in toxicity. And if you see "danger," the product contains the highest level of chemicals and is considered extremely toxic. While it may not be possible to find completely organic and non-toxic products, you can look for those that say "caution" for your safest and greenest bet.

Here's one more reason to choose organic red wine to have with dinner: It's loaded with good-for-you antioxidants. Red wine has the antioxidant resveratrol, which has been shown to help protect against cancer and heart disease, and helps promote overall wellness and health. But when you drink conventionally grown red wine, it can be loaded with chemicals from pesticides and insecticides. Going organic is a cleaner, greener and possibly better-for-you choice. Cheers to that!
