One way to save money on organic produce is to buy in-season and locally when it's in abundance. Not only is it at its cheapest, it's also at its peak flavor and freshness. When buying in abundance, try flash-freezing your organic haul so you have a stash you can use for months to come. Flash-freezing is simple: Dice the organic produce into manageable sizes and place on a wax paper-lined cookie sheet. Freeze for a few hours and transfer the frozen organic produce into airtight freezer bags. When you need your organic produce, just bring the frozen bag out and let it thaw before using.
