Here's the easiest Do Just One Thing that comes to mind: Use revolving doors when visiting stores and office buildings. When you have the choice, go with rotating doors because they help keep heat and air conditioning in the building. Using a regular door can create a vacuum effect, forcing outside air into the store, causing the system to work harder and less efficiently. Choosing a rotating door is an easy and green thing you can do every day.

Microwaves are a convenient and energy-efficient way to cook and heat up leftovers. But when using a microwave, opt to use only microwave-safe glass or ceramic containers to cook in, even if a plastic container is marked microwave safe. Plastics with that marking mean they can withstand heat up to a certain temperature. If you're cooking something on high for an extended period of time, the plastic containers can still lose their shape and could possibly leach chemicals into your food.

To prevent clogs and deodorize sink drains, reach for a box of salt. Pour 1/2-cup salt (coarse salt works best) down the drain, and then pour a teakettle of hot water after it. The salt acts as a corrosive to scrub the drain walls, and the hot water will help flush clogs down the drain while also dissolving the salt. Salt's a natural deodorizer, so any foul odors will neutralize, leaving your drain clean and smelling fresher.
