Bees are important to our natural world because they help pollinate flowers. But bees can be bothersome when you're outside. Instead of creating an insect killing spray, why not try a natural bee repellant instead? Simply fill a reusable spray bottle with witch hazel oil and add a few drops of tea tree oil. Shake the bottle and spray the solution on your skin whenever you go outdoors. The medicinal smell from the witch hazel is obnoxious to bees (and other insects) and will encourage them to stay away from you ... naturally.

Many of us have gift cards to stores like J.C. Penney, Target and Kohl's with just a few dollars left on them. Instead of letting the cards go unused, donate them to Sew Much Comfort. The nonprofit takes new clothing and retrofits it into adaptive clothing -- including adding Velcro closures -- for wounded service members.
