Here's a weird, yet financially fruitful, recycling tip: Ever wonder if old gold teeth and crowns are recyclable in those cash-for-gold programs? Well, they are. The GoldBox (goldcrown-recycling.com) will take any size, any quantity and any quality of gold false teeth -- whether it's a single crown or a whole gold bridge, even if there are teeth still attached. Just fill out a form on its website, mail in the gold and it'll send you a check for the value of the gold, based on current market rates.

Ever wonder what to do with a lemon after you squeeze it for its juice? Before tossing it into the compost pile, use it to give your fresh produce like apples and pears a good cleaning. Simply rub the halved lemon vigorously over thin-skinned fruit to help break down dirt, impurities, waxes and other residue. The natural acidic nature of lemon will also help disinfect the fruit. Rinse, dry and enjoy.

If you're a big black tea drinker, save your used tea bags to keep your wood floors looking their best. Toss five to 10 used tea bags into a large pot of water, and bring it to a simmer. Cool the mixture, then use the tea-steeped liquid to mop your floors or rub onto wood furniture. The natural tannins in black tea will add extra shine, help diminish scratches and bring luster back to dull furniture.
