Here's a great tip from the Cookware Manufacturers Association to get marred or dirty cookware sparkling clean again. Put a solution of half white vinegar and half water in your pot or pan. Simmer over low heat for a few minutes, then rinse. For extremely tough stains, soak the solution for a few hours, and rinse with warm, soapy water before using the cookware.

Stop wasting air conditioning. If your home runs on a central cooling system, close the vents in infrequently-used rooms like spare bedrooms or the dining room. Restricting the flow of cool air in unused rooms diverts it into rooms that need to be chilled. The cooler those rooms get, the higher you can raise the thermostat.

Many of us soak our cookware in water for several hours or overnight to loosen baked-on food to make cleanup easier. While that does work, it can warp the pan over time, making it defective and difficult to use. To protect your cookware investment, allow your frypan to cool to room temperature, then immerse it in water for several minutes. That should be enough soaking time to make cleanup a breeze without risking any damage to the pan.
