After your next party, don't dump leftover sips of white wine down the drain. Consolidate the wine into a spray bottle, and use it to keep your kitchen countertops clean. The white wine will help remove rust stains and mineral deposits, and the residual alcohol will kill harmful germs and bacteria. You can also use white wine to clean any red wine that may have spilled on your carpet.

Old nail polish can have multiple uses around the house. Use clear nail polish to stop fabric from fraying at the edges. Colorful nail polish can be used to mark keys for the home, with drops of different colors indicating which key works on which door. And if you have a button that is constantly falling off a certain article of clothing, prevent it by dropping clear nail polish on top of the button where it is threaded.

When choosing between using the drive-thru or going into the restaurant to pick up your order, always park, turn off your car and walk in. The average drive-thru order takes about three minutes, enough idling time for all of America to be wasting hundreds of millions of dollars worth of fuel.
