Maximum gas-saving tip: Take the time to really go through your car and take out anything that isn't useful or is outright junk. Go through all the back pockets, the trunk, the glove compartment and anywhere else junk might pile up. The lighter your car, the more fuel-efficient it will be.

Maximum gas-saving tip: If you see a tanker truck at your local gas station filling up their reserves, keep driving right on by. Filling up your tank as the main reserve fills up can lead to an unknown mixture of gasoline and sediment that's being stirred up by the tanker truck. Dirt, debris and other unwanted material could end up in your gas tank.

Maximum gas-saving tip: Fill up in the morning or late at night, not during the day when it's warmest. When gasoline is cool, it is densest; when it gets warmer, gasoline expands and fills up your tank more quickly, while delivering less actual gasoline to your car.
