Break the habit of using the refrigerator's egg holder compartments and instead keep the eggs in their carton. Eggshells are porous, which means they release moisture quickly if left unprotected, causing them to lose their freshness. To extend the shelf life of fresh eggs, simply keep them in their container.

Milk is a food staple that every member of the family grabs and uses throughout the day. So make it a new habit to keep the carton of milk in the back of the fridge, not in the front or side shelves. By constantly bringing the carton of milk in and out of the fridge, it fluctuates the temperature, which can cause it to spoil. Leaving it in the back of the fridge helps it readjust to a cooler temperature more quickly, keeping it fresh.

To create a less toxic environment, consider borrowing a scented bar of soap from your bathroom and placing it somewhere in the car; it'll gently scent the car in a more pleasing, environmentally friendly way.
