When a pair of jeans you love becomes too tight in certain areas, you don't have to donate them to charity or go on a diet right away. Instead, put the jeans on and use a spray bottle to soak the areas that need to be stretched out and wear them doing something rigorous, like riding a bike or lunging up the stairs. The soaked denim fibers will stretch out evenly, and the pair will become your favorite jeans all over again.

Glass jars used to hold jellies, jams, sauces and more can be given a new life as storage in the bathroom, craft room, office or kitchen pantry. Clean out the jars and lids with soapy water and place them in the dishwasher to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Use them to hold paperclips, beauty supplies, spices and herbs –- or anything else that needs to be organized and easily accessible.

When shopping at the farmer's market for organic fruits and vegetables, ask the vendors if they are willing to give you a discount for either buying a larger quantity or purchasing the less-pristine-looking pieces. If there are organic tomatoes that have slight blemishes on them, and you're planning to cook them anyway, you are more likely to get a better price than if you bought the photo-shoot-worthy bushel.
