Check for leaks along gaps and cracks along doors and windows, and seal with weather stripping or caulk. All it takes is a gust of wind to pick up light recyclables from the top of your recycling bin and scatter them throughout the neighborhood. Be diligent about placing featherweight recyclables -- plastic bottles, aluminum soda cans -- on the bottom of the bin and placing heavier recyclables on top. This will weigh everything down and prevent accidental littering.
