If you're donating baby clothes to a charity that helps moms in need, be sure to wash the clothes using a fragrance-free detergent before giving them away. Babies have the most sensitive skin and are prone to irritations to clothing that has any residual soap or fragrance on it.

If you have raw meat or seafood you want to freeze to use at a later date, try the freeze-dip method to preserve them. Simply dip the steak, fish or chicken leg in cold water and freeze inside a freezer bag. Once frozen, dip again in water and freeze. The ice layers keep the raw meat at a consistent temperature and helps prevent freezer burn.

With no dyes or finishes on the fabric, it's a great green choice, and their heavy weight is great for blocking out light and insulating against both hot and cold drafts.
