When shopping for a new cutting board, the best eco-choice is also the best chef's choice: bamboo. Bamboo cutting boards are made out of the fast-growing grass, but are as tough as hardwood. While slicing and dicing away on bamboo boards, they're also kinder to your knives because they don't dull the blades.

Stocking up on wines at the liquor store can lead to lots of plastic and paper bag waste. Each bottle needs to be wrapped in paper, and then they are all placed inside a plastic bag.
