Flying somewhere anytime soon? Make your flight carbon neutral. Your airline uses a lot of fuel to get you from point A to B, so go to www.carbonneutral.com and use the calculator to determine how much CO2 you added to the atmosphere. The longer you flew, the worse. But no worries; you can neutralize the CO2 by paying them to plant trees or by switching a certain number of lights to compact fluorescents. The calculator will tell you exactly how much neutralizing you'll need to do.

While we're not sure whether or not plastic food containers are safe to store food in (some believe they leach toxins into food, especially when heating the food in the microwave), why take a chance? Good old-fashioned glass containers can store leftovers and be used in either an oven or microwave for reheating and will not stain or take on odors from spicy foods.

Boxed wines used to get snubbed by true vino lovers, but the eco tide seems to be turning. Well-respected winemakers are turning to Terra Pax packaging because it uses less energy to make than traditional glass bottles and weighs significantly less, giving the consumers more wine for their dollar. The best part? Boxed wines can easily be resealed, extending the shelf life of an opened "box" far longer than an uncorked glass bottle.
