When paying your electric bill, check to see if you can purchase "green" power as on option from your utility company. Many utility companies are offering eco power -- solar and wind power, for example -- to their customers. Sometimes it's as easy as checking a box on your bill. If your company doesn't offer green power, call its representatives and ask that it does. Enough calls may drive them to offer this option.

Here's a simple way to bring aromatherapy into your morning shower. Step one: Pick up a bunch of eucalyptus at the supermarket or from your florist. Step two: Tie a sprig to the showerhead with natural twine. Step three: Turn on the shower and let the hot, steamy water activate the essential oils in the eucalyptus. Breathe in and feel refreshed.

Raid your office commissary and take a few day-old bagels home with you. Run a piece of twine around the bagels and hang them on a tree outdoors near a bird feeder. The bagels will be devoured by birds and the occasional squirrel, and the best part is that the whole thing is edible. No mess!
