If you're spending time at the beach, make sure you do a few simple things to keep your environmental footprint as light as possible. First, choose an all-organic, plant-based sunscreen to wear; when you frolic in the water, most sunscreens (even waterproof ones) will leave some residual waste in our oceans. A biodegradable one won't disturb the delicate ecosystems of the ocean. Finally, at the end of the day, make sure you tap all the excess sand out of your shoes and bags; with millions of people visiting our beaches annually, a little sand here and there really does add up to serious beach erosion.
