For rarely used areas of the house -- the attic, basement, and garages -- use motion sensor lighting. The lights will automatically turn on once the sensor is activated. After a period of time without motion, the sensors will turn off the lights. The motion sensors are also a great solution for outdoor security lighting -- when you forget to turn a light switch off and on every day and night.
