Wash up in the shower with truly organic body washes, shampoos and soaps. Did you know the average shower gel takes up to 200 to 300 years to biodegrade once the sudsy mess has gone down your shower's drain? "Natural" smelling soaps and cleansers are usually made with non-organic chemical formulations and synthetic fragrances. Fortunately, some truly green skin care companies are offering green products that work great and are affordably priced. Check out Pangea Organics (www.pangeaorganics.com); not only are the products green, but the packaging is, too.

Do you have a shower curtain and a liner? Most shower curtain liners are made from PVC, polyvinyl chloride, which gives off harmful gasses the second you hang it up in your bathroom. Instead, think like you're in a hotel and get a nylon shower curtain; it's waterproof and machine-washable and not made from PVC. Best part? When it looks dingy, just unhook it and wash away ... Good as new!

Your toilet may have a leak, and you may not even know it. Drop about 6 drops of red, blue or green food dye into the tank of the toilet (the part with all the levers and valves) and wait an hour or so. Come back and see if the water in the toilet bowl has changed color. If you see any color, your toilet is leaking water and wasting countless gallons of H2O annually. Call a plumber and get it fixed.
