On “General Hospital,” Finn (Michael Easton) and Anna (Finola Hughes), who are romantically involved and perhaps soon to be engaged, will find their lives turned upside down when his former girlfriend Hayden Barnes returns to Port Charles. Hayden will once again be played by Rebecca Budig, who originated the role in 2015. As the story goes, Hayden, who was pregnant at the time, left a heartbroken Finn at the altar and split town in late 2017. Hayden also left a note for Finn telling him that she had lost their baby, which wasn’t true. Consequently, many “GH” fans concluded, rightly, it turns out, that Hayden would someday return to upset the apple cart for Finn. At this time, there was no airdate available for Budig’s return -- we will keep you posted.
Also returning to “GH” is Chandra Wilson in the role of Sydney Val Jean. Wilson formerly appeared on the soap as Dr. Linda Massey, a marriage and family therapist, and also as Tina Estrada, a patient of Kevin’s (Jon Lindstrom). This time around, her character is an editor of the fashion magazine Crimson, run by Nina (Michelle Stafford), and together they work on the Nurses’ Ball red carpet.
Earlier this year, Lynn Herring, as her character Lucy, touted a new travel book about life in General Hospital as part of her storyline on the show. The book is titled “Travel Guide to Port Charles: Where to Go, Where to Live, Who to Love and Who to Never, Ever Cross in America’s Most Dramatic City.” The book, billed as being written by Lucy and other characters in Port Charles, was actually authored by “GH” co-head writer Chris Van Etten. The book is available at Amazon.com, BN.com and Target.com.
Late last year, Eric Braeden, who had been on a lengthy vacation from "The Young and the Restless," assured fans of the show that he had not left and that viewers would be in for “a hell of a storyline!!” when he returned. In that storyline, Victor mysteriously disappeared for a few months, which worried his family, who had no idea what he was doing. Beginning with the May 13 episode, viewers finally learned what Victor had been up to in Las Vegas -- he had located his supposedly deceased son, Adam Newman, who is suffering from amnesia. Playing Adam this time around is daytime newcomer Mark Grossman. Grossman praised Sharon Case (Sharon) for bringing him up to speed on Sharon and Adam’s story.
Also in “Y&R” news, actor Mark Taylor appears in the role of Detective Eddie North on May 20. Although this is Taylor’s first time on a soap, his list of television work includes such series as "Beauty and the Beast,” "Flashpoint" and "The Umbrella Academy."
Vanessa A. Williams returned to “Days of Our Lives” and her former role of Valerie Grant last week. Williams joined “Days” in 2016, with Valerie leaving Salem and her man, Abe Carver (James Reynolds), to take a chief-of-staff job at a hospital in Washington, D.C., in 2018. Now that Valerie is back, she's determined to see that Sheila (T-Boz) does not take Abe -- who is up for re-election as mayor -- away from her.
