Being Honest About Beards

DEAR NATALIE: Be honest. What do you really think of guys with beards? In my day, they were a thing. Then they were creepy, and now they are back in vogue. But do girls in this day and age really like them? -- HAIRY SITUATION

DEAR HAIRY SITUATION: Considering every hipster bar in Pittsburgh is a sea of beards, I would say women must like them. I think women forget that we set the social tone. If we told guys that we found purple mustaches hot, every dude walking around would be sporting one. Oh, the power! All kidding aside, I think of beards like accessories. There are good ones and bad ones. The best are well groomed and soft. The bad ones are overgrown (and sometimes contain food particles). So, if you are thinking of growing a beard, just think of it as an extension of your style. What women really respond to is confidence, so whatever look you are sporting, carry it with pride.

Natalie's Networking Tip of the Week: Don't overbook yourself. Remember, it is about quality of connections, not quantity. If an event doesn't speak to you, don't waste the time or the money on it. Focus on what inspires you and motivates you to be there. When you are full of passion, people can sense it, and you will be a networking magnet!
