If you can't afford to go totally organic with your fresh fruit, start with the thin-skinned ones. Fruits such as strawberries, blueberries and raspberries (see a trend here?) are like sponges; they absorb what's sprayed onto them.
When buying wine, look for biodynamic or organic varieties. Many pesticide-free, Earth-friendly brands are readily available today at all price points. And instead of carrying out your wine purchase in paper and plastic bags, opt to reuse one of the store's many cardboard boxes. They're an easy and durable way to cart your bottles of delicious vino home.
To remove ballpoint pen marks, use rubbing alcohol and dab it on the stained area. Place a clean cloth underneath the spot if possible and gently rub away. Repeat this process if necessary and then wash the fabric as usual.
